Types of Knee Replacement

Mainly there are two types of knee replacement:
Partial Knee Replacement (PKR)
The operation involves replacing the ball of the femur that has worn from arthritis, degeneration, or a serious fracture involving the ball of the hip joint.
Total Knee Replacement (TKR)
This is usually done when the joint fails by osteoarthritis. Other indications include rheumatoid arthritis, avascular necrosis, traumatic arthritis, protrusio acetabuli, certain hip fractures, benign and malignant bone tumors.
